If you have been blasting through Path of Exile 2 recently, you know just how muscle-memory reliant our inventory management is. We slide into town, open a vendor or NPC window, and instantly start spamming standard shortcuts to move items around. It is supposed to be fast and automatic. But recently, a brutal inventory bug turned that exact habit into a total nightmare for anyone handling Liquid Verisium at Farrow.
For a while, using the classic Shift+Ctrl+Left Click shortcut in that specific menu did not just move your items—it completely vaporized them. Thankfully, Grinding Gear Games stepped in quickly, and the issue has now been officially sorted out.
The Issue: How a Simple Shortcut Nuked Player Inventories
The core of the problem lay in the interaction window with the NPC Farrow when dealing with Liquid Verisium. Under normal circumstances, players use Shift+Ctrl+Left Click to quickly move or manage bulk resources. However, due to this critical bug, executing that exact input sequence triggered a catastrophic resource loss.
Instead of cleanly transferring the stack, the game instantly consumed or deleted your entire inventory stack of Verisium. To make matters worse, it would only return a single, solitary unit of Liquid Verisium—and in some cases, it failed to yield any resources at all, leaving players completely empty-handed.
Losing an entire stack of hard-earned materials in a split second because of muscle memory is the kind of bug that makes you want to step away from the keyboard. The community quickly flagged it as a high-priority issue, warning others to manually click and drag resources until a fix arrived.
The Official Resolution
The good news is that we do not have to worry about losing our stacks anymore. Grinding Gear Games identified the underlying problem with the automated resource loss and deployed a permanent fix.
The Fix: The development team successfully resolved the inventory deletion bug in the 0.5.4 Hotfix deployment. The input logic has been corrected so that bulk shortcuts no longer swallow entire resource stacks.
Action Required: To ensure you are safe, just double-check that your game client is fully updated to patch 0.5.4 or any subsequent newer version. Once your client is up to date, you can safely go back to using your standard bulk item shortcuts in both vendor and crafting windows without fear of losing your items.
It is a massive relief to have this behind us. Kudos to the team for catching it and patching it out before more players accidentally wiped out their stashes. Update your game, log back in, and happy hunting out there. |
